The Pototan Tourism Office hosted the 1st General Assembly and Election of Officers on September 17, 2025, marking a significant milestone in strengthening community participation and leadership in local cultural and tourism development. A highlight of the occasion was the official release of the coffee table book “Namit: Celebrating the Culinary Traditions of Iloilo Province.” The book showcases the rich gastronomic heritage of the province, featuring unique and cherished delicacies such as Leon’s Bandi, Binarot and But-ong nga Palawan, Palawan Alupe, and Huwad-Huwad.

These culinary treasures form part of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) cultural mapping program, which aims to preserve and promote local traditions for future generations. The success of the program in Leon was made possible with the dedicated efforts of Ms. Ma. Annaliza Camago and the hardworking Leon Tourism staff, whose collaboration ensured the meaningful documentation and presentation of Leon’s culinary identity. This gathering not only strengthened organizational ties but also reaffirmed the commitment of the entire Iloilo province to safeguard cultural heritage through food, stories, and community action.
