The Municipal Tourism Office of Tigbauan recently conducted a benchmarking visit to the Leon Pasalubong Center, one of the notable Tourism Rest Areas (TRA) in Iloilo. As a beneficiary of the Department of Tourism’s initiative to establish Pasalubong Centers, Tigbauan aims to develop a facility that meets national tourism standards.
Leon’s Pasalubong Center was chosen for this visit due to its successful adaptation of the Department of Tourism’s TRA standards. The benchmarking focused on key aspects such as the standard design, efficient space utilization within the center, and the overall aesthetic appeal. By studying Leon’s implementation, Tigbauan’s tourism office hopes to apply best practices in creating a well-designed and functional Pasalubong Center that enhances visitor experience and promotes local products.
This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of local tourism offices to elevate community-based tourism infrastructure, ultimately benefiting both travelers and local entrepreneurs.
