The Municipality of Leon, through its Tourism Office, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Region VI (DENR R6) for choosing Bucari Pine Forest as the site of the Eco-tour during the Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc. (SFFI) National Conference 2025. Held on September 13, 2025, the Eco-tour gathered professional foresters from across the country, giving them the opportunity to experience Bucari’s refreshing pine-clad landscapes, rich biodiversity, and community-led environmental initiatives.
Through the leadership of Mayor Ma. Lina C. Holipas, the Municipality of Leon takes pride in hosting the delegates and showcasing Bucari Pine Forest as one of Iloilo’s most treasured natural attractions. This milestone reflects the municipality’s strong commitment to preserving its unique natural heritage while fostering responsible and sustainable tourism. The Leon Tourism Office likewise extends its deep appreciation to DENR R6 under the leadership of PENRO Salvador Manglinong Jr., a proud native of Leon, whose support was instrumental in bringing national attention to Bucari. His efforts, together with the entire DENR R6 team, ensured the success of the activity and strengthened the partnership between the agency and the local government.
With the success of this collaboration, Leon Tourism looks forward to more joint initiatives that will not only enhance environmental stewardship but also further promote Bucari as Iloilo’s “Summer Capital” and a prime eco-tourism destination in the country.
